andrea turns 18 today. blessed birthday andrea! though you probably won't read this, sconeand pw definitely wouldn't have been the same without you!
after sleeping from 12midnight to 10am today, i finally got back all my sleep i lost on prom night!
can you imagine, the weeks of planning for prom culminated in just one night. but it was fun while it lasted anyway. shopping for any particular item is very very stressful, i discovered. but when you don't go shopping for anything in particular, you see so much nice stuff you like but don't need.
back to the big day. before prom fang geok mindy xin and i met at karen's house to deposit our stuff first and change into our dresses first. we left karen's house on the late side cos we all didn't want to be the first one to change haha. in the end we solved the problem by changing at the same time in different rooms.
headed to hollywood secrets at paragon for hair and make-up. it was so packed with people who similarly had pre-prom appointments! we saw quite a number of ac people. from sconealone steph dash mag feli lily were there too.
from paragon, steph's mum gave us a lift straight to shangri-la. the best part of prom was taking photos with my glam friends, and just sharing the night together. the deco was better than 2 and a half years ago when we were in mg, mainly because the ballroom has since been renovated. even the toilets changed location.
most of thescones went to karen's house together for our own post-prom programme. i'm so glad we all didn't want to go for the clarke quay post-prom. i'm sure we would have just incurred an unecessary additional cost for prom-related expenses. and after hearing all the horror stories of what happened at the clarke quay post-prom, i'm even more relieved we didn't go. who says you need to go clubbing to have fun.
our sconepost-prom was so much cheaper in monetary terms, but so much more priceless in terms of what we got to do. just chilling out together at karen's house was great. karen was a really good host! there were even bedspreads on the floor for us to sleep and i did make use of it haha. so throughout the night, we played games, watched movies, and drifted off to sleep [occasionally]. jialing was the only one who could really sleep throughout.
in the morning we went to macs for breakfast. good thing we didn't order in or we probably would have been stoning for a while. so that more or less wraps up the whole prom night.
when i got back from macs yesterday i only napped for one hour, then i had to get up to shoo my brother out of the house for his piano lesson. after that i just had to watch heroes, and upload photos on facebook, then i left for school to crash my juniors' guitar camp with a few others. i was quite zonked out most of the time due to lack of sleep. we stayed on for dinner cos there were extra packets of food, then we left.
